Rooted: A Brand with Purpose
Rooted was a junior-year branding project centered on developing a fictional organization committed to supporting community farms and promoting sustainable living. The goal was to build a brand identity that felt purposeful, energetic, and rooted in collective action.
The Process
I began by researching environmental organizations and grassroots farming movements to understand existing visual language and messaging gaps. From there, I explored typography, color systems, and iconography that could reflect both the environmental mission and the community spirit behind the brand. Through sketches and digital iterations, I refined a visual system that balanced boldness with warmth. This included developing logos, icons, color palettes, print collateral, and sample social content to demonstrate brand application.
The Conclusion
The final identity features strong, grounded typography paired with vibrant, geometric iconography that represents growth and community connection. The color palette blends earthy tones with energetic accents to reinforce the brand’s message of urgency, optimism, and empowerment. The system is flexible, impactful, and easily scalable across digital and print touchpoints.
